HORMONAL DISORDERS (OTHER)
During the course of life, the female body is exposed to normal variations in hormonal levels, such as during the monthly menstrual cycle, during pregnancy, or menopause. However, there are also abnormal changes in hormone levels that can lead to pathological conditions, for instance hyperprolactinemia, polycyclic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis. The treatment for such hormonal (endocrine) disorders varies. It most often includes some form of hormone replacement or suppression therapy, and in some cases it may also involve surgical interventions.
